Weight of the prime rib x 5 total roasting time in minutes for example if you have a 3 pound roast 3 5 15 minutes.
Leave it in there for 3 hours.

Leave roast in oven but do not open oven door for 3 hours.
Turn the oven off and leaving the roast in the oven with the door closed let the roast sit in the oven for 2 hours.
Turn the oven off and leave the roast inside.
With this recipe we are cooking a 6 7 pound prime rib roast at 200 f.
Roast your prime rib for one hour and then turn off the heat.
Leave the prime rib in the oven.
Place meat in a shallow roasting pan fat side up.
Rub with salt pepper to taste.
Preheat the oven to 500 degrees f.
About 30 to 40 minutes before serving time turn oven to 375 degrees f and reheat the roast.
Before serving turn oven back on to 300.
When making slow roasted prime rib the total cooking time depends on a few things.
Preheat oven to 375.
Place beef fat side up on rack in a roasting pan uncovered in oven for 1 hour and then turn off oven.
Do not open the door.
30 to 40 minutes before serving turn the oven back on at 375 degrees f 190 degrees c to reheat the roast.
For the prime rib.
For a bone in prime rib figure two servings per rib while a boneless roast will yield two servings per pound.
Roast for 1 hour in the preheated oven.
A beautiful plate of prime rib roast beef can be dressed with any number of delicious vegetable dishes.
Roast at 550 f at 5 minutes per pound for rare or 6 minutes per pound for medium and 7 minutes per pound for well done.
The size of the roast the oven temperature and the oven itself and how done you prefer your meat.
